Recycled Polyester
Recycled polyester, also known as rPET, is obtained by melting down existing plastic and re-spinning it into new polyester fiber. Post-consumer plastic bottles and containers are frequently used in this process however there is also excellent potential for rPET in from post-industrial sources.
Our sweatshirts in this collection are made from a blend of rPET and OCS certified organic cotton - making them a fusion of sustainable materials!
rPET can also serve as a substitute for other garments usually made with polyester. For example one recycled sports tee could be produced from around five soft drink bottles.
